Ranjan Lakhanpal Chairman World Human Rights Protection Council strongly condemned the illegal search of Simranjit Singh Mann’s house.
“It is most unfortunate that a police party headed by Jaswant Singh Station House Officer of Section 3 Police Station Chandigarh raided the house of Simranjit Singh Mann and searched the premises even when Mann was not there and only his wife and daughter were there The Jaw of the land clearly provides that where women are there then the search should be done by lady police However there was no lady along with the raiding police party. The raiding police party did not have any search warrants with them and the police acted as a law unto themselves.
It is pathetic that there is no rule of law and there is only police rule. Such kinds of unbridled powers in the hands of the police will lead us to nowhere” said Ranjan Lakhpal.
