NEW DELHI(PTI): A Scottish based Indian has developed an “electronic doorman,” a device that can recognize faces and has improved security ala chain of casinos in the United Kingdom.
The electronic doorman, called Photoe as, is the idea of Sunil Sharma, head of a Scottish based computing firm. He took over a year to develop the computerized system said 16 have made the signatureredundantasa form of identity.

When members present their cards at the door, the computer instantly recalls their faces and details onscreen, this can be done from the membership numberora magnetics strip.
When a new member joins, a camera behind the screen takes a photograph and at a single keystroke transfers the image digitally to ‘a database. The database can then be used to produce plastic idenufication badges.
Similar picture storage and retireval systems can also be used to” create personnel security systems, photo libraries and tourism services, Dr.Sharma is holding talks with Various companies, local authority planning departments, libranies, hospitalsand police forces regarding the same.
