NEW DELHE: The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the petition challenging the legality and propriety of the oath taken by Devi Lal as Deputy Prime Minister.
Justice Ranganath Mishra and Justice M.M. Punchhi rejected the petition filed by K.M. Sharma (Advocate) which maintained that there was no constitutional provision for the post of deputy prime minister. Sharma’s petition also said that the oath taken by Devi Lal was contrary to the provision of the constitution and the form provided in the constitution.
