STOCKTON: CALIF: Gen. Jaswant Singh Bhullar, Secretary General WSO was given a saropa on December 29, 1985 by the managing committee of the Sikh Temple, Stockton, A ceremonious turban was presented to him by S. Jagiit Singh Gill, President of the Gurdwara Committee. The Secretary, S. Lakhmir Singh Grewal, related the ugly incident in which Gen. Bhullar’s turban was removed by four persons on December 3, 1985 in the library of the Sikh Bhullar said that the assault was contrary to all Sikh tenets and traditions and was carried out by elements who have no love or commitment for the “Cause. He also disclosed that some self-seekers had come to foreign countries to profit by the sympathy of the Sikhs living here. They had nothing to do with the Sikh movement in Punjab. Meanwhile Khalistan youth organisations of Vancouver B.C, condemned the assault on Gen, Bhuliar and recorded its appreciation of Stockton Sangat and Gurdwara in upholding the Sikh traditions. S, Shingara Singh of the Naujawan Sikh Association of Metropolitan ‘Area, Washington also conveyed to World Sikh News, his Associations, strong feelings against the assault.
