NEW YORK: Former Indian president Neelam Sanjiva Reddy underwent lung cancer surgery at the Memorial Solan Kettering Cancer hospital here last week.

A team of doctors lead by Dr. Manjit Singh Bains removed two malignant tumors from Reddy’s tight lung. The former president’s prognosis is reported to be good and he is expected to be released from the hospital in a week or so.

Reddy had undergone surgery on his leftlugn in 1977 and even then he had been treated by Dr. Bains.
