JALANDHAR: S. Santokh Singh Samra of Empire passed away after an accident at their ancestral village Samari here on June 24,

  1. Santokh Singh fell into the pit housing a tube well motor and suffered severe head injury. He was rushed to the Christian Medical Center at Ludhiana where he was declared dead on arrival.
  2. Santokh Singh (48) is survived by his wife Manjit Kaur, two sons Tejinder and Jugraj a daughter Kamaljit.

From the well-known Samra family of this area, S, Santokh was the brother of S. Amarjit Singh Samra (Sam) and S. Niranjan Singh Samra and the son of S. Thakur Singh and Sardarni Nasib Kaur.

The family is trying to get the body to the USA for last rites as most of the family is settled here, Santokh Singh was a respected and much loved member of the community. Recently he had donated a kidney to his sister.
