NEW DELHI: The riots call of Delhi police has summoned Outer Delhi Congress MP Sajjan Kumar and former MP Bharat Singh in connection with a case related to the anti-Sikh riots of November, 1984. Sajjan Kumar and others have been called for questioning.
The Outer Delhi MP’s statement is to be recorded in connection with a case (FIR, no, 418/1991) involving the killing of Sikhs in Y-block of JJ colony under the Nanglot police station area of West Delhi.
In the FIR, Gurbachan Singh has alleged that Sajjan Kumar led and instigated a 500 strong mob around 10 am on November 1, 1984 to plunder and kill Sikhs residing in Y-block of JJ colony in Nanglot. As per the FIR, also present in the mob were at least 10 policemen including the then Nanglot SHO Ram Pal Rana, who allegedly instigated the crowds to attack.
