MANJIT SINGH
SHUKLA is the controller of the accounts of the Sikh Cultural Society, New York, as its treasurer.
Sardar Shukla who was born to Dhan Devi and S. Naratta Singh on February 17, 1936, at Daresalam, Tanzenia but he actually belongs to village Rampur Kitani, Distr. Ludhiana.
He received his BSc. Economics degree from University of Hull (England) in 1962. He added a prestigious qualification of Chartered Accountant to his name from a London institute in 1965.
Shukla migrated to U.S.A. in January, 1971. Here, too, he continued to acquire to get more knowledge of the accounting puzzles before entering into the accounting business. He became a certified public accountant (CPA) at New York in 1972 and started his own Private practice in this field.
Shuklas also established manufacturing firms in New York area. They take pride in mentioning the fact that they prefer the Keshadari Sikhs as the workers in their firms.
Shukla married Baljeet Kaur on June 20, 1970. Baljeet who could be seen by the side of her dedicated husband, standing behind the table near the entrance gate, is a trained nurse, and a health visitor, she has also once worked as Sister Tutor to teach nursing to the students.
Shuklas are highly respected by the Sangat of New York for their commitment to the Sikh ideals and dedication to their work.
Shukla has also joined the family of World Sikh News as a corporator.
