AMRITSAR, India: Employees of S.G.P.C. led by Secretary Bhan Singh staged a march outside a district court to present a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner demanding that Mr. Abhnashi Singh and Dr. Baldev Singh Brar should be traced immediately. The march as Mr. Bhan Singh explained in his brief speech outside Deputy Commissioner’s office was organized to express anguish and concern over the disappearance of their senior colleagues. Police has found no clues to their whereabouts.
Mr. Bhan Singh told the gathering that incident appeared to be a part of deep rooted conspiracy aimed at defaming the S.G.P.C. and Sikh community. Since the Operation Blue Star attempts were being made to capture the S.G.P.C. and engineer a war against the Sikhs.
A resolution submitted to the Deputy Commissioner demanded that the two officials should be produced alive before the S.G.P.C. If they remained untraced, the government would be responsible for the consequences. Later talking to newsmen, Mr. Bhag Singh said S.G.P.C. employees have fanned out in Tarn Taran subdivision and even Batala and Gurdaspur have been visited.
He said all Kar Sewa Sants and Dera’s in villages have been approached. Meanwhile it is reliably learnt that security personnel in plain clothes are trying to find the missing person. The C.R.P.F. D.IG., Mr. S.S. Virk is on the job. It is believed that all militant organizations are also looking for them. The five head priests have condemned the kidnapping of two officials.
