CANDIGARAH, India: The SGPC. asserts that ‘only Jathedar of Akal Takht can issue directive to the Sikhs, Jathedar of any other Takht cannot issue such directive, S.G.P.C. executives also said that it also criticized the statement of the Head Priests of the Golden Temple in the Darshni Deodi on Wednesday calling upon Sikhs to extend support to freedom fighters to break the chains of slavery.
The four Head Priests included Swinder Singh, Jaswant Singh, Kashmir Singh and Puran Singh ‘The resolution adopted at the Executive Committee meeting of the S.G.P.C. said that the criticism of the Akal Takht, Jathedar Darshan Singh, and Akali leadership was highly objectionable The delegation of the S.G.P.C. leadership including President Harinder Singh and Secretary Bhan Singh called on Darshan Singh Ragi at his residence near Chandigarh and conveyed to him the text of the resolution. In a telephone conversation, Darshan Singh confirmed the visit of the delegation.
