AMRITSAR: The Rashtriya Suraksha Samiti (RSS) recently demanded that weapons training should be imparted to civilians in Punjab to enable them to face the militant’s attacks.
A deputation of the Samiti led by its president Dr Baldev Raj Chawla met the Director-General of Police and presented him a memorandum stressing the need for building a strong civil defence.
The deputationists demanded that strict measures should be taken to stop the migration of the minority community from rural areas of the border districts. They felt that the Army’s help should be taken for maintaining the law and order in the worst-affected pockets and the Indo-Pakistan border should be sealed effectively.
