KAPURTHALA: The World Bank has sanctioned Rs 33 crore to promote health services in the state under the Indian population’ project.
This was announced by the Additional Director Health Dr HS.Aneja while addressing a gathering at Tibba village near Sultanpur Lodhi. He also inaugurated a health education and medical camp in the village where 2000 patients were examined.
Under the World Bank project 400 sub health center’s would be set up He said health and family welfare centres at Khara were being upgraded to training institutes for imparting training to doctors and health workers. He added that 800 vacant posts of doctors would be filled soon in the state He also highlighted the achievements of the Health Department i in the state
Speaking on the occasion the Kapurthala Civil Surgeon Dr G.S. Preet said a sum of Rs 1.25 crore would be spent on health services in the district.
