NEW DELHI: A delegation of the riot victim relief committee led by Mr Kuldip Singh Bhogal met the Prime Minster, Mr Chandra Shekhar. The delegation urged the Prime Minister to look into the grievances of the victims of November, 1984, riots pending for the last six years.
The Prime Minister heard the delegation sympathically and assured that he would personally look into this matter and solve their problems, Mr Bhogal claimed. The Prime Minister has asked the delegation to meet him again after November 16.
Mr Bhogal also offered a siropa and kirpan on behalf of the committee to the Prime Minister and hoped that the Prime Minister will be successful in solving the Punjab problem.
Another deputation of the November, 1984, riot victims led by Mr Jasbir Singh, General Secretary, riots relief and rehabilitation society, met the Prime minister. It requested him to take in his Cabinet at least two Sikh Ministers so as to win the confidence of Sikh masses.
