CHANDIGARH: Mrs.Hardip Kaur, a resident of Mohali, in a statement here Said that her husband Jaspal Singh has not re turned after he left the house on the afternoon of Aug.17. Jaspal Singh belongs to Punjab Human Rights Organization. He prepared numerous reports on violation of human rights by Indian security forces. P.H.R.O. vice chairman Narinder Singh and Sukhjit Kaur in a statement alleged foul play behind Jaspal Singh’s mysterious disappearance and suspected the police hand behind it. The police had earlier raided his house more than once. Several other organizations also took serious notice of the disappearance of Jaspal Singh. These included P.H.R.O, and the Committee for Information and Initiative. These organizations have brought the matter to the notice of international human rights groups to put pressure on India to release Jaspal Singh forthwith.
