FRESNO — The Sikhs from all parts of California joined the Bath family at Sikh Gurdwara Caruthers (Fresno) on Sunday, August 7, 1988, to participate in the Antam Ardas for the peace of the departed soul of late S. Sham Singh Bath. The occasion attracted large gathering of relatives, friends and admirers of the Bath family. The Gurdwara Hall was packed to the capacity.
- Gurcharan Singh Dhillon, the newly elected president of W.S.O. (U.S.A.) paid rich tributes to Baba Sham Singh and described his death as a personal loss. Prof. M.S. Sidhu, the editor of World Sikh News conveyed the condolence on behalf of the paper. He also narrated some events of personal association with the Babaji and the Bath family. Th. Kehar Singh, Mohinder S. Grewal, Mrs. Mita Dhaliwal paid rich tributes to the departed soul. A message on behalf of the Sangat of Stockton was also read. Mr. Leo MacCarthy Lt. Governor and the Mayor of San Francisco also conveyed their condolences. The messages were read to the Sangat by Mr. Dakshan Singh who has been nominated as one of the commissioners for the City of San Francisco.
Later, all the invitees were served with Guru Ka Langar.
