New Delhi — Government of India has extended restrictions on the issue of visa for Punjab till July 2, 1985. Sikhs living abroad and wanting to visit their homes or relatives in Punjab are required to get a special visa from the Home Ministry of India. Home Ministry issues visa for specific places and the visiting Sikhs are not allowed to move freely in Punjab.
Foreigners and members of press and other media are strictly prohibited from entering Punjab. The unfortunate State continues to suffer the army occupation and police atrocities.
Punjab is already being treated by the Government of India as a separate country and the people there are getting the treatment that a _conquered nation receives from the invaders. Army and police personnel enter Sikh homes without any warrants or even a vague pretext and humiliate the inmates and take away the valuable.
