Before I pen down these lines, let me introduce myself to all of you, in 1934 I joined F&P. Dept. (Foreign & Political) and in 1946-47 the same very Dept made the partition of India and Pakistan. I was eyewitness to all of this, the vast sacrifices of the Sikh nation for India’s Independence. India’s Independence struggle from British rulers first started in 1857 and then this struggle of Independence ended in 1946-47 when in 1946 Bill for India’s partition was laid in Central Assembly.
In 1946 Lord Wavell, the then GovrGenl of India was highly pained and disturbed to learn that Sikhs, as a Third Party to India’s Independence were sure to lose the game on the table. The Sikh Nation had no Daily
English Newspaper nor had they cared 10 establish their own Secretariat of- fices for Political Affairs in India’s Capital at New Delhi. The other two parties, viz. Hindus leaders Congress Party and Muslim League, under Mr. Jinnah had Daily English newspapers, Hindustan Times and Times of India Political Affairs, besides this, the Muslims had their own daily Delhi, with a most talented and experienced staff.
The fact is that before partition of India the Sikhs had 16 big and small states besides many Sikh chiefs of Punjab yet the Sikh nation failed to establish its Daily English newspapers nor established at New Delhi any of their political affairs secretariat offices. The result was we failed to get any thing from the partition of India. We lost all the Sikh states in Punjab and thousands of Sikhs and their families were killed while crossing from Pakistan to India.
I am 82 years of age and have been settled in North America since 1976 I was eye witness of Operation Blue Star at the Golden Temple and Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. I returned to Canada on Sept 4, 1984 and pledged to serve the Panth up to last of my breath. For this very reason I worked for WS.O. the then Newly formed all Sikhs of Foreign lands. Since partition of India I have dreamed of the 1 day when Sikhs of India and abroad will establish their own English newspapers as well as its political affairs offices in their own building.
Thanks to God, we the Sikhs of California, with leaders such as Sardar Didar Singh Bains and all associated u dedicated Sikhs established first World Sikh newspaper in English and Punjabi about 10 years ago. For such the time WS.N has been daily English newspaper of North America but due to lack of establishing any Sikh Trust for W.S.N. we fail to run this English Punjabi paper at a true global level. It is time for the Chairman and Board of Directors to call a meeting and thus establish a Sikh Trust of North America for W.S.N (with special efforts of Dr. Gurinder Singh Grewal, whose last 10 years service and many sacrifices to run this W.S.N. are highly appreciated).This will no doubt be the greatest achievement of the Sikhs of USA. We can easily find three to four hundred Sikhs of USA and Canada who would contribute $1,000,00 even myself poor and humble as I am will be the first to contribute $1,000.00 for this Nation’s cause.
Why We have failed to achieve this?
Because India’s Govt’s very strong propaganda through Hindus and some Punjabi newspapers, the presence of RAW Agency offices of India Missions at Washington, Ottawa and all other foreign countries, hiring of touts of Sikh from many Sikh sects in for feign lands and some Sikh and Gurdwaras Priests to whom India’s d Government have financed with large 5- amounts. These have damaged our struggle and left us nowhere.
The recent visit of India’s Home Minister to Canada besides many India’s Cabinet Ministers also Punjab police chief K.P.S. visits to Germany i and England laid down many conspiracies against Sikhs in foreign lands.
Prime Minister India secret directive sent to foreign missions abroad is on following lines:-
- Use all unfair means to stop publishing the Sikh Nation’s World Sikh Newspaper.
- Destroy the Religious Sikh Mirzada of all Gurdwaras even (made India RAW Agency their agents) gun shooting in Gurdwaras open fights made groupies.
- Various other secret directives are under issue under the disguise of Trade Act between USA and India.
- The other notorious motive is so that Sikhs may not establish their own Political Affairs Sect offices at Washington, D.C.
- Extradition Treaty between India and U.S.A. are being worked out What are Sikhs to do Now?
- Every Sikh must contribute his honest earning one tenth towards raising World Sikh Newspaper National Trust.
- Establish a Sikh high power intelligence in seeking coordination of various Sikh Organizations and groups and common formula be adopted in order to crush the motives of the Indian Government.
- Make a very strong Sikh lobby center at Washington, DC. in order to crush India Government hired lobby center at Washington, D.C..
Immediate action is needed and unity of the Khalsa at this critical stage is most essential and if we fail to do now then consequences will lead us nowhere as a good saying by a great philosopher.
