CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Human Rights Organization has said that reign of terror let lose by the police in Batala police district, has Proved counterproductive. It has generated sympathy for the militants who are fighting for the establishment of Khalistan as more people are joining the ranks of the militants.
Addressing a press conference Justice A.S. Bains president of PHRO said after visiting Batala and Sri Hargobind Pur areas the sympathy and admiration for the underground militant movement has vastly increased. The team investigated the police repression on innocent Sikhs and squarely blamed Gobind Ram, the S.S.P. Batala. Mr. Bains wondered why the government is not taking any action against Gobind Ram, despite the fact that large number of panches and sarpanches complain to the governor S.S. Ray against.
