Prices were set on the heads of Sikhs by Zakria Khan in 1739-40 at the following rates. 5
Rupees 10 to each person giving clue to the whereabouts of a Sikh.
Rupees 50 for bringing with him a head of a Sikh.
Rupees 80 to a person who captures and brings a Sikh alive
Orders were given to local Chaudharies and Karindas to confiscate the properties of the relate of the Sikhs. The prices set those days were equal to a few thousand Rupees of today. So the reward was tempting indeed for the hunters Naturalizing the inflationary trend the value at current p would be: Rupees 3000 for giving a clue to the whereabouts of a Sikh ($100).
Rupees 15000 for a Head of a Sikh at current rate of exchange ($500).
Rupees 24000 for a live catch of a Sikh at current rate of exchange ($800) it is simply inhuman shameful and ridiculous for rulers of any time for the utter disregard of human life and value by setting a shamefully low value to the highest valued species in the world (The Human) simply with the aim to exterminate any class of people. God has not granted the decree either to rulers or ruled to kill any one. by: T.S.Sandhu Principal Khalsa School Fremont CA
