YUBA CITY: WSO Int Pres. Didar $.Bains has said in a Press release: The appointment of Sidnarath Shanker Ray as an envoy in USA is very regrettable.
The Government of India has once again put salt on the wounded Sikh psyche by appointing Ray as an envoy to USA, Ray during his Governorship of Punjab, recruited convicts especially murderers undergoing life sentences into murder squads. These squads were deployed not only to kill Sikh youths but also to defame the freedom fighters by killing innocent people in buses and trains and blaming them on Sikh freedom fighters.
Ray was one of Indira Gandhi’s closest confidantes who is said to have advised Indira to impose emergency rule in the country when she was unseated from the Parliament. He is a strong arm of Indian Congress with a reputation of killing thousands of Nexalites in West Bengal. He has no respect for human life, does not believe in human rights and is open to unconstitutional methods.
We the Sikhs sincerely appeal to the President and the State Department not to extend acridities to such a person.
After the extradition treaty with Britain government of India is planning to create the Sikh struggle for survival here in U.S. also I appeal to all the Sikh brothers and sisters to remain alert and cautious not to fall in their trap. We should use all constitutional means to protect ourselves and block such sinister moves, Let us acquire one Congressmen and Senators and write to President and the State Department requesting them not to extend extradition to Ray.
