NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Rao’s intelligence agencies are trying to frighten Sonia Gandhi to either leave India or restrict her political movements. A message has reportedly been given to her through top brass of the special protection group guarding her that threats to her and members of her family had grown after the assassination of Sri Lanka President Premdasa. It was particularly conveyed to her that the LTTE men had ominous eyes on her son and daughter and that she should either leave the country or restrict her movements. Mrs.Gandhi, it is stated, had increased contacts with several former colleagues of her husband and their wives. The intelligence agencies are also keeping a close watch on the kind of newspapers she reads and what kind of news interest her.
