New York: PM Rao and Chinese Premier Li Peng met here Saturday and agreed to give political directives at the higher levels if it was deemed necessary to resolve the boundary disputes that a joint working group would be discussing in meetings at the end of February. Rao and Li shared the assessment that there were similarities in the views between China and India on issues discussed by the Security Council. Li told Rao that the visit to New Delhi in December was seen in positive terms in China and Rao agreed that the same positive views were held in India Both sides agreed that high level talks between the two countries should continues.
