NEW DELHI, India: Mr. Ram Jethmillani, a noted jurist in the 3rd batch of his ten questions to Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi has sought to know about the role of the presentation of the mercedes car by King of Jordon at the time when a contract was being executed with the airlines for the landing rights at New Delhi. Mr. Jethmillani said that the acceptance of a gift from any person whose business interests are involved with the government violates the provisions of the Indian penal code. Mr. Jethmillani has also sought to know, why the information given by the Bofors in a letter dated April 24, 1987, has been suppressed.
The response of the government towards Mr. Jethmillani’s questions was of an angry man having no reply. They responded that the attention cannot always be paid to the “barking dogs”. Mr. Jethmillani has decided to continue asking these questions for a month or til the Prime Minister comes forward with some positive response.
