Leaders of the non Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposition parties Feb.24 described as ‘unfortunate’ the BJP’s decision to ‘walk out of the realm of law’ as evident from its insistence to go ahead with Thursday’s rally in the capital.

Former foreign minister and senior Janata Dal leader L.K.Gujral, MP, said, “It is an unfortunate fact that the BJP has decided to walk out of the realm of law.”

He said there was no reason to rely on the BJP.

The CPI general secretary and its leader in the lower house of parliament (Lok Sabha) Indrajit Gupta, said, “The government must stop the BJP sponsored rally. If it does not act, the imposition of ban on the rally will be meaningless.”

Former finance minister and SJP leader, Yashwant Sinha, MP, said the BJP should avoid such rally in the present surcharged atmosphere and appealed to the BJP to avoid confrontation.

CPI (M) leader in Lok Sabha Somnath Chatterjee said the government must stop the rally.

He said’ a ‘communal party’ like the BJP should not be allowed to disrupt the law and order situation.
