KOHIMA: Rajiv Gandhi has said that his party if voted to power will lift the ban on the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) the most potent insurgent body in the strategic east.
Addressing a public meeting at Dimapur on Sunday Gandhi blamed the ruling Nagaland Peoples Council for allegedly accepting the Chandra Shekhar government’s decision to impose the ban. The NSCN was banned last November.
He also accused the Chandra Shekhar government of slashing financial aid to Nagaland.
The former prime minister claimed that his party would bring down within one month the price of good to the level prevailing in the seventies besides provide jobs to five million unemployed.
