SHIMLA: The BIP will ask the Union Government to enhance the minimum income limit for income tax to Rs 48,000 and to restore the remote locality allowance for Shimla-based Central Government employees.

This was announced by the BIP ice-president, Mr KL. Sharma, addressing the coordination committee of Central Government employees here yesterday.

He said the BJP would forcefully raise both the issues during the budget session of Parliament. He urged the Union Government to take effective steps to bring down the prices and fulfill its promises to roll back the prices to the July, 1990 level.
