NEW DELHI: The Government has substantially increased the procurement prices of rabi crops for 199293 marketing season as well as the issue prices of wheat and paddy supplied through public distribution system (PDS).

The procurement price of what of fair average quality has been fixed at Rs.330 per quintal, an increase of 20% over 199192. The issue price of wheat has been raised by 17.85% from Rs.280 to Rs.330, whereas the issue prices of all three varieties of rice distributed through PDS have been Jacked up by Rs.60 a quintal. The price of common rice has, been increased by 15.91% to Rs.437 4 quintal, the price of fine once has been raised by 13.7% to Rs.497 per quintal. The price of superfine nice has been increased by 13.10% to Rs.518 a quintal. The revised issue prices have come into force with immediate effect.
