We are quite disturbed to see the interpretation of “Tere/Bhane/ Sarbat da Bhala” misquoted by Dr.Trilochan Singh of Detroit in the letter that appeared in the Nov.27, 1992 issue of the World Sikh News.
Speaking at the Sikh Gurdwara Michigan on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev jis birthday S.Kuldeep Singh interpreted the last lines of our Ardas as.
“O Nanak there is (always) charhdi kala of Naam and it is for the betterment of all to accept His (Waheguru Akakpurkhs) will.” Therefore it is in our best interest (Bhala) to recite Naam in order to be in High Spirits (Charhdi Kala) and to accept Waheguru Akalpurkhs Will (Bhana).
Dr.Trilochan Singh acted irresponsibly to misquote S.Kuldeep Singh as he was not even present in the Gurdwara Sahib on Nov.8.
We would request you to please check with us before publishing any such mis-statements in future as they serve no other purpose than to cause confusion in the Sikh community.
