May I request that WSN quit using the word “Militant” in reference to the boys who are fighting for the freeing of Punjab. Please replace the word “Militant” with “Punjabi.” The word “Militant” has a negative connotation it is no different than the word “Terrorist” and many Punjabis do not appreciate the fact that these folks are Punjabis and their struggle is for everyone in Punjab. Read the following line and see how it effects you Today in Moga Militants were killed or ‘A number of Militants got killed’… vs ‘Today in Moga Punjabis were killed or “Indian police killed so many Punjabis’… I’ll bet you would pay more attention to the latter sentence than the former because you would associate yourself with Punjabi more than Militant. Make every Punjabi part of the same struggle. If the Sikhs do not want to be part of India then they should start disassociating them from India. They should not call themselves Indians instead they should say they are Punjabis. Let the ‘State of Punjab’ be against India rather than just Sikhs against India. The same should be for Kashmiris Assamis; and others who are fighting against Indian Imperialism
I request further that in referencing Police Border Guards Army WSN should adopt the words Indian Police Indian Militia Indian army etc. in conjunction with the killings by authorities
I wish further that WSN should always take stand i.e. 1.We like to see Indian Sub-continent Rulers abdicate their rule over Punjab and all adjacent territories. 2. All Punjabis should unite to free their Homeland. 3. Provide the benefits of being free. 4. Ways Punjab could be free and accentuate positive in describing. 5. What free Punjab would be like in the next millennium.
The reason many Punjabis are not behind the boys is because they can’t imagine Punjab can gain freedom and what the aftermath could be like. Many Punjabi Hindus fear they will have to leave Punjab and Sikhs and Punjabis living in India fear they will be annihilated or thrown out of India. Since WSN is the only free Punjab’s voice WSN has a duty to put forth the ideas of Sovereignty and allay the fears of Punjabi Hindus and Indian Punjabis.
I admire your work very much and appreciate the divergent views you have been presenting. I wish you much success Koda Hafiz or let me say May God be with you!
