CHICAGO: The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago, an organization to promote Punjabi Culture and performing arts in Metropolitan Chicago area held its annual ‘board meeting recently to chalk out future programs and also to ‘elect its executive officers and programs directors for the year 199495.
Lakh want Singh Komal was elected the Chairman of the Board, Thakar Singh Basati, the president, Rajinder Singh Mago, vice-president (president-elect), Mohinderjit Singh Saini, executive secretary, Gulzar Singh Multani, finance secretary, Manjit Singh Gill, public relations and Mrs. Balbir Kaur, intercommunity coordinator. To harness local Punjabi artistic talent several defectors were also appointed, Dr. Harjinder Singh Khaira, special cultural programs, Sunny Kular, youth affairs, Bhagwant Singh Sandhu and Sukhmeet Singh Atwal, Sports Activities Directors. Forthcoming major events among others are “Aao Nachiye,” on Saturday December 17, 1994 at Vice Roy of India Banquet hall in Villa Park, Illinois and the popular annual Vaisakhi cultural program, “Rangla Punjab ‘95’ on Saturday April 1, 95 at Center East Auditorium in Skokie IIIinois.
