CHANDIGARH, India: The Punjab police could not control their anger and oppressive attitude even while operating in the territory of Haryana state. It is said that some police officers of Punjab cadre went to V. Agranwan District Hissar to arrest S. Jagtar Singh an uncle of S. Jasvir Singh, a freedom fighter. Soon after the arrival, Mr. Jagtar Singh surrendered himself to the police party in an open public view of the villagers. But the police took law in their own hands and shot him dead without caring a bit for the sentiments of the people. At, the Outrageous scene, the villagers strongly protested against the killing but the police quickly ran away from that place. Baba Joginder Singh a unified Akali Dal leader later visited the village and joined them to register a strong protest against the heinous crime of the Punjab police.
It is interesting to note that Punjab police did not like to observe a formality to inform the Haryana police about their action which has been seriously viewed by Haryana government.
