JAGROAN (LUDHIANA) (PTD) : In a bid to wipe out “terrorism” security forces in Punjab have targeted specific villages which have become strongholds of militants in the inter district boundaries of Ludhiana region in the northern Indian Punjab state.
The special operation will be launched to break the hold the militants have in these places director general of Punjab Police K.P.S.Gill told reporters at Halwara airport.
The plan will be implemented in the next couple of days. Gill said the militants were lying low in Majha region but in the Malwa belt they were reportedly trying to build up and revive terrorism. The ant militancy operations already on would however continue he added.
Gill was here to meet senior police officers and station house officers to give finishing touches to the plan.
He said it was suspected that a two member group belonging to the Chandra group of the Bhindranwale Tigers Force of Khalistan aligned to Dr. Sohan Singh Panthic Committee was behind the Oct.30 massacre in which 25 people were killed in three villages.
