CHANDIGARH: Baldey Singh Ballamgarh, Congress MLA, has given a privilege notice against the Faridkotsenior superintendent of police, M.K. Tiwari, for insulting him publicly and using abusive language.
In a representation to the secretary of the Punjab vidhan sabha here, Ballamgarh alleged that the SSP had insulted him in the presence of some other persons in his office on June 24, He said he had gone to the SSP’s office to lodge a protest against the in charge of the Lakhowali police post who, he said, had beaten and detained a person belonging to his constituency. The MLA is his complaint charged that the SSP called him, “liar, a thief, and a dishonest per son,” The officer then asked’ him to get out of his office, Ballamgarh alleged, The MLA told reporters that he would submit are presentation to the chief minister, Beant Singh demanding action against the SSP.
