Dalip Singh Sahota Passes Away
NEW DELHI: The November 1984 massacre victims on Thursday held a series of protest meetings in different parts of the Capital like Tilak Vihar, Tilak Nagar, Madipur, Ghaddi, Sangam Park to express their resentment against the injustice mooted out to them.
On Friday, massacre victims will hold a rally at the Boat Club lawns, a statement issued by the All-India Sikh Conference said. A number of opposition leaders are expected to address the rally.
Meanwhile the massacre widows on Wednesday attended a Bhog ceremony organized by the Riot Relief and Rehabilitation Society. A resolution passed at the ceremony demanded that all the victims should be given adequate compensation for the death of their family members and loss of Property.
Addressing the gathering Jathedar Jaspal Singh, president Shiromani Akali Dal (Master Tara Singh) expressed happiness over the recent Madras High Court order to compensate all riot victims at Coimbatore and appealed to the Prime Minister to issue orders to all the states to compensate all those who have been affected in the 1984 riots.
