Stockton, CA — Prof. Harcharan Singh former Head of Physics Department, G. T. B. Khalsa College, passed away on the night of Saturday, September 14, 1985 at Fresno. He was 66. He suffered a sudden stroke of brain hemorrhage that proved fatal. Prof. Harcharan Singh started his teaching career from Khalsa College, LyalIpur (Pakistan). After partition him for some time continued with Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jullundur before joining G. T. B. Khalsa College, Delhi. He had retired at the age of 63 but continued serving the institution till April this year in one capacity or the other. He was a dedicated teacher and an enthusiastic Social worker. Anti-Sikh riot victims in Delhi refugee camps will always remember him for his selfless service.
Prof. Singh leaves behind his wife, three daughters, a son and four grandchildren. His eldest daughter Harrinder Kaur and son Harminder Singh are in Los Angeles. His 2nd daughter Satinder Kaur is married to Dr. Jasbir Singh Mann of Los Angeles and the youngest daughter Parminder Kaur is married to Dr. Sohan Singh Mahil of Stockton. The bhog and antam ardas for the peace of his soul will take place on September 28, 1 p.m. at the Sikh Temple, Stockton, California.
