From News Dispaches AMRITSAR: Acting swiftly the has arrested a poojari Nainsukh allegedly for triple murder which place in Arya Samaj Mandir in Chowk in the walled city here on afternoon.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Sanjiv Gupta said the killings were the outcome of some “quarrel among the women”. Investigations were in progress. Shastri’s wife and mother in law had also been taken in custody for questioning along with a noted project.

The murder took place in the temple premises in which Mrs. Kamlawati (50), her daughter Sunita (22) and son Naresh (12) were killed and another son, Rakesh (14) was injured. It was Rakresh who raised the alarm and attracted public attention. He jumped from the first floor to save his life. He is in SGTB Hospital.

The family had migrated some time ago from Thathian Mahanta near Naushehra Panua, in Tarn Taran police district. The head of the family Jagdish Kumar, is a worker in a textile factory.

The family was already looking for some private accommodation outside since it was being harassed by the Poojari. It is believed that a “sex scandal” is also behind the murder story. Angered by the family’s resistance Shastri ran amuck, allegedly killing the family members. The police has recovered the weapon used in the crime.

The poojari had locked himself up in a room and the police had to break open the door to apprehend him.
