With the imposition of President’s rule in Tamil Nadu the southernmost Indian state four states are simultaneously under direct central rule of Delhi. In this unscrupulous show of disdain for all non-Hindi speaking minorities even the governor of the state was not consulted. The people of the state reacted swiftly and government property worth millions has been destroyed.
The reason given for this blatant intrusion into the affairs of Tamil Nadu was a deteriorating law and orders situation and the increasing activities of the Sri Lankan militants notably the LTTE.
If President’s rule were the answer to law and order problems why does it not work in Punjab and Kashmir and Assam. Soon all non-Hindi speaking states will be under the direct rule of the Indian army and police. One can almost foresee military rule if India does not disintegrate before then.
This is but another symptom of the disease afflicting the artificial nation of India. It is pathetic the way India refuses to accept reality. It is upto its neck in a morass of corruption and rot but the face it puts out for the world is a mask of pious innocence the land of Gandhi’s non-violence of Buddha. It is another matter that all Buddhists have either fled or have been forcibly assimilated or exterminated by the Hindus.
Kashmir Punjab Assam and now Tamil Nadu are under Delhi’s authoritarian and fascist rule. It is not a coincidence that the peoples of these areas are ethnically and culturally very distinct from the cow belt Hindu. They are as different as the Chinese are from the English.
The Tamils have been struggling for an identity in Sri Lanka for quite some time now. For well over a decade they have taken recourse to arms against the domination of the majority Sinhalese. India under Indira Gandhi aided and abetted the Hindu Tamils with money arms and training camps.
Her son Rajiv in an apparent reversal of policy sent in the Indian army to keep the Tamils in check and to quell the insurgency. The truth was that he wanted to interfere directly in Lanka’s affairs. It is not without reason that India’s neighbors fear it as the regional bully. The Indian peace keeping force as it was called had to beat a hasty retreat in the face of stiff Tamil resistance. The Indian army suffered thousands of casualties.
Indian Tamils have never been too happy with Delhi. In the 1960’s there were riots all over South India as Hindi was imposed as the ‘national language’. So far what has kept them quiet was a common bond of Hinduism. It cannot hold for very long. Europe is over 20 nations Christianity could not bridge cultural linguistic and ethnic differences
The Indian experiment is a total failure. India never was one nation Hindus often blame the British for portioning India into two nations using their policy of ‘divide and rule’ They should be grateful that the British amalgamated hundreds of kingdoms under their rule and handed a subcontinent to the Hindus. Had the Muslims not opted for Pakistan in 1947 the disintegration of India would not have taken so long.
