CHANDIGARH: The four militant organisations have asked the people of Punjab to be ready to fill up the Satluj Yamuna Link Canal.

The KLF, the KCF the Babbar Khalsa and the AISSF ( Daljit Singh) in a joint statement appealed to Panchayats to pass resolutions, publicise them and be prepared to launch the proposed action on the water issue,

The militant outfits also askew the IAS and PCS officers of Pun jab as well as Punjabi Hindus tc support the militant led action or the SYL issue. The militant organisations also brought out a poster on the subject and posted them on public buildings in Ropar district.

Meanwhile, the four organisations in another statement released in Amritsar, owned responsibility for the killing of superintending engineer, PL Chabra and said that all officers associated with the SYL Golden Temple beautification and the barbed wire project along the IndoPak border would meet the same fate, Chabra was in charge of the so called beautification program, which actually aims at distorting the architectural beauty of the Golden Temple complex, the militants said.

In a joint statement, the leaders of Akali Dal M, Dal Land AISSF Manjit, Movement against State Oppression, and Council of Sikh Affairs supported the militant stand on the SYL and water issue and prevent Punjab’s water being stolen at gun point. They asked Punjabis to unite as one man and save the state from colonial rule.

The signatories include Gurtej Singh, Sukhinder Singh, Tota Singh, Ravinder Singh Gill, Mrs Baljit Kaur Gill, Inderjit Singh Javjee and General Mohinder Singh.

It is significant that Simranjit Singh Mann himself has not spoken on the militants program aimed at dismantling the SYL project nor has Badal supported the action. The latter has gone on record as saying that first water should be properly distributed and then the SYL built as if the other states had any right to the water.
