ISLAMABAD: Decks have been cleared for the Pakistan People’s Party to form the new government in Azad Kashmir with the party bagging six of the eight reserved seats in elections held through secret ballot on Tuesday.

The PPP has now emerged the largest single party with a total of 21 in the 48 member legislative assembly. Its strength will go up to 29 with the support of two members of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation league, three from Azad Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, two independents and one from TehrikIAmal.
