CHANDIGARH: The Central Bueau of Investigation (CBI) is bring out a large number of posters of the wanted militants in the Beant Singh assassination case, namely Jagiar ‘Singh Hawaraand constable Balwant Singh.
This further fortifies the theory that former Chief Minister Beant Singh was killed by Dilawar Singh, who was the human bomb.
The posters, in different languages, are to be circulated all over the country. According to CBI sources, the investigations till date have not brought out anything which could controvert the theory that Dilawar Singh was the human bomb, Due to this reason the photograph of Dilawar, which is available with the police, is not being flashed in the posters although the DNA report, which authentically confirm the identity, is awaited.
Normally, it takes not more than 4 week to complete the DNA test which is being conducted at Hyderabad.
Initially, the Punjab Police officers ‘were perturbed about the publication of posters of wanted militants as word ‘went around that the CBI is also publishing the picture of Dilawar Singh ‘as one of the absconders, it is learnt.
‘The publication of Dilawar as one of the wanted persons would have meant that the claims made by the Punjab Police and the Chandigarh police were not finding favor with the CBI.”
