TORONTO: Metro police have arrested 34 people in connection with a videotaped crackdown on bicycle theft in cast end Toronto and is planning more sting operations to nab the culprits, A squad at six plain clothes officers planted bicycles in theft had spots and set up video cameras and waited nearby for crooks to move in. Most theft attempts occurred within an hour and some within seconds. The thefts were recorded on videotape, including one in which a police officer walked only 3 meters from a bike and a would be thief tried to make off with it.
