Sir,
On May 5, at about 8:45 a.m. private passenger buses were stopped by the Punjab police at the Dhariwal check post. Passengers thought that it was a routine check. But they were astonished when the policemen asked them to disembark. We were told that the buses were needed for carrying security personnel to Siri Nagar and the vehicles were, therefore, being impounded. The passengers were asked to make alternative arrangements.
It certainly is police raj in Punjab.
