LUDHIANA: The Punjab Action Committee was prevented from staging a protest rally here by the police. About 200 activists nevertheless organized a sit-in at Pakhowal Chowk to highlight the police atrocities on the Sikhs and killings of Sikh youths by Indian security forces.
Those who joined the sit-in protest were S.G.P.C. chief Baldev Singh Sibia former S.G.P.C. chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and others.
Meanwhile the Indian security forces killed about 20 more Sikhs on Tuesday in different parts of Punjab in “encounters” including a senior militant leader.
