CHANDIGARH: A warrant officer of the high court found Baldev Singh who was arrested earlier by police from Baba Bakala in an unauthorized building (rented by the police for purpose of torturing youth).

Baldev Singh is a clerk in cooperative department in district Amnitsar. Police forcibly without any warrant or authorization took Baldev Singh from Baba Bakala and kept him in a private house near the police station in Mehta village. This house is being used by the police for torturing Sikh youth.

Meanwhile Malkit Singh a close relative of Baldev Singh moved habeas corpus petition in Punjab and Haryana high court. High Court admitted the petition and appointed a warrant officer who in a surprise raid found Baldev Singh in the said house. Baldev Singh was lying on the floor naked and unconscious. The warrant office arranged a maruti car and took him to a hospital in Chandigarh. and instructed the SHO Mohinder Singh to produce Baldev Singh in the High Court on the 6th of June. Hospital officials in Sector 16 hospital refused to admit him. Then police took Baldey Singh to house no 157 in phase 4 of Mohali Industrial Town. He was again shifted to another house.

Police panicked when they learnt that Baldev Singh could die anytime. They took him in the car and put him un conscience on the toad side.

Some passerby took him to a local hospital where his condition is very critical.

The whole incident has been brought to the notice of Punjab and Haryana High court by Punjab Human Rights group.
