AMRITSAR; Close on the heels of the incident of tattooing the foreheads of four Dalit women in the Jetkiris case the Amritsar police are now being charged with beating up 31 residents of two villages confining them illegally to the police station and forcibly Cutting the hair of some of them. Meanwhile addressing media persons the leaders alleged that 16 residents of village Ikban and 15 of Fatah kalan were whisked away to the Fateh pur police post where they were beaten up and detained illegally for several hours. They were released after pressure was mounted by the residents. A barber was called to the police station and the hair of many of these detained was cut they claimed.
