AHMADABAD Gujarat: Union Ministers P. Shiv Shankar and Chintamoni Panygrahi were beaten up by the police ‘on security duty for the Dandi March. The incident occurred at Chandola Lake when the two ministers arrived there to lead the march in place of Rajiv Gandhi who was sitting seven miles away from highway No. 1. The police hit on the legs of the ministers while the senior police officials came to their rescue. Actually the police repeatedly beat marchers at many places. The Union Minister of State for Home Joginder Makwana, although a local resident was not present at the Lake at the time of this incident.
