NEW DEHLI: Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar regretted criticism about his recent reported offer on amendment of the constitution as part of efforts for discussion with the Punjab militants.
In an informal chat with reporters who accompanied him on his day’s visit to Madras he said there is no harm in talking about any amendment. I have only said that if there was a suggestion for amendment of the constitution if it can solve the Punjab problem then I am fully prepared to hold talks on the issue.
