JAMSHEDPUR: Indian Premier PV Narasimha Rao Sunday said the center was not willing to take any action against the Bihar government or impose president’s rule in spite of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Referring to the Jharkhand issue Rao said the Center was giving due weight to the long standing grievances of the people and also prevailing tension in the area. Moreover he told newsmen here the Center had realized the depth of feeling of the people and the problems which had led to the demand for a separate state and it would be sorted out.
Referring to the package plan of Rs. 5000 crore for Bihar announced by Rajiv Gandhi Rao said the government was considering its implementation in the eighth five-year plan.
He said his government had successfully sailed through the troubled economic condition and had thus gained the confidence of the people.
Earlier inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi international football tournament in the RD Tata sports complex the PM said the country should have at-least 100 cities like Jamshedpur to set the pace of development.
Regretting the unbalanced development in the tribal areas he said that special arrangement would be made for proper utilization of the mineral resources of the locality.
