NEW DELHI: I am not takining Compose (tranquilizer) every day, it is a very bad habit,” the Pome Minister, Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda, said here last week. The Prime Minister was referring to his sleeplessness, particularly over the plight of the downtrodden. Addressing the national convention of the Mahila Janata Dal, Mr. Gowda said: “My heart moves at their pitiable condition,” and added that after snatching some sleep for barely two to two and a half hours, “I wake up suddenly and’ start walking in my bedroom thinking, thinking, thinking.” Mr, Gowda recalled that even as Chief Minister of Kamataka, he would sleep for hardly three to three and a half hours. “This is how my mind works,” he said.
