PATIALA: Beant Rai, president of the local Lok Sewa Society, has urged the police to produce Gurinder Singh in court. In a representation submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Rai has stated that Gurinder Singh, a police constable had presented himself before the local police last month at the behest of his father. The police then produced Gurinder Singh in the court of the SDM who remanded him in police custody till May 4, Until April 22, Gurinder Singh was in a local police station and his wife, Vandana, had met him there.
After April 22 when Vandana again went to meet her husband, the police allegedly told her that Gurinder Singh had escaped from the police station. According to the representation, the where abouts of Gurinder Singh are not known. He has urged the police to produce Gurinder Singh in court or return him to his parents.
Vandana, who is a hockey player and student of BA (II), married to Gurinder Singh only four months ago.
